Highest number of first-time buyer transactions since 2007 25 April 2014 | By Laurna Robertson Print Email Share Comment Save The number of property transactions from first-time buyers reached the highest levels in March since 2007, according to LSL Property Services . Based on data collected across the UK from the company’s Your Move and Reeds Rains estate agencies, the research found that the number of transactions in March climbed to 31,400, up from 22,200 in February. This was more than a 40 per cent increase. The average purchase price in March was £143,906, down from £145,122 in February. The transactions were up by 60.2 per cent year-on-year and the research found that the average first-time buyer deposit fell by 10 per cent in a year to £23,802.
